Rosemary ConroyHost, Something Wild
Rosemary Conroy is a wildlife painter, freelance-writer and naturalist living on a small farm and wild bird sanctuary in Weare, New Hampshire. An ardent nature lover, Rosemary began writing and co-hosting “Something Wild” back in 1998 while working as communications director for the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests. She has continued doing the program even after leaving the venerable conservation organization to pursue her life-long dream of being a working artist and writer. Rosemary's recent awards include being named the New Hampshire Environmental Educator of the Year in the non-traditional category in 2005, and receiving Antioch New England University’s very first Environmental Excellence Alumni Award in 2004. In 2006, the N.H. State Council on the Arts awarded her one of their first Artist Opportunity Grants from. In 2007, Rosemary received her first national recognition from the Artist’s Magazine with an honorable mention in their first All Media Online competition — one of 16 awards given from more than 1,000 entries. The the N.H. State Council on the Arts also gave her an Artist Entrepreneurial Grant that year as well. Rosemary serves on the board of the Harris Center for Conservation Education in Hancock, New Hampshire and works out of her studio in Weare. She invites everyone to visit her website.
