On a visit to New Hampshire, Here and Now host Robin Young remarked that "you can't be president without talking to Laura Knoy." Laura is known nationwide for her in-depth interviews with presidential hopefuls. During the 2008 primary season Laura spoke with all but two of the major contenders, including John McCain, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Mike Huckabee. Laura is a veteran of public radio in Washington, DC and a graduate of Keene (N.H.) High School. Prior to hosting The Exchange, Laura worked in public radio in Washington DC for seven years. From 1988 to 1992 she worked as a local reporter and announcer for WAMU. Before her radio career, she was a researcher for USA Today's "Money" section and a research assistant at the Institute for International Economics. Laura occasionally guest hosts national programs such as The Diane Rehm Show and Here and Now. In 2007 Laura was named New Hampshire Broadcaster of the Year by the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters.
