Waste: Uncovering the Global Food Scandal

Nearly a billion people are considered hungry, and yet every year, millions of tons of food gets wasted. Author Tristram Stuart says this waste not only adds to the problem of world hunger, but is bad for the land, aids in global warming and costs more for the farmers and manufacturers. We’ll look at the effects of food waste and what could be done about it.

BIOFUELS FROM FOOD WASTE NOT SUITABLE FOR HUMAN/ANIMAL CONSUMPTI

3rd Workd countries are leading the US on BIOWASTE GAS PRODUCTION and this is a real shame!It is some much less complicated to create such plants, and operate such plants, as I do not see why these plants are not being intalled in major, and or minor cites around the US.It simply takes a large tank in which biowaste is introduced, bacterias are added that eat thge waste and produce methane gas, the gas is collected and compressed in tanks, and then can be transported or piped to produce gas for cooking and heating.The bi broduct, after the gas reclamation can then be shipped to a recomposting plant to create new and enrich soils!Why not? BIG BUSINESS!This is cheap good technology that is nonolluting! Cities have many cogeneration plants where the BURN garbage to produce electricity or steam for heating, but you have to look at the afterburn effects!These CO-GEN plants are run by big buisness, where the BIO-FUEL plants can be built and run by the local municipalities! In the long run generating funds for more ecofriendly programs that could be put in place that could help cut down on taxes etc... There are fund available in the Obamas First Economic Package for just these types of projects, but I have yet to see a munnicapaqlity jump for the funding to produce cheap energy through BIO-FUELS PLANTS FROM NON COMSUMABLE FOOD PRODUCTS HUMANS OR ANIMALS! This is a shame!
