This Weekend: Open Doors New Hampshire

By Rick Ganley on Friday, November 6, 2009.

While fall foliage is over and ski season has yet to begin, there's still plenty going on in New Hampshire this weekend.

Amy Diaz talks with Morning Edition Host Rick Ganley about Open Doors New Hampshire, a statewide event showcasing local people and products.

The League of New Hampshire Craftsmen and NHMade.com are leading the Open Doors New Hampshire series of events, showcasing fine art, crafts, food, quirky stores, museums and more, as well as the people who produce them.

Amy says this is the second year for the statewide showcase; she says a number of the events, including the Mont Vernon Artisans Show, feature not only art but demonstrations. In the Upper Valley, there are at least four glass-makers who will create work as well as show it.

There's food available as well; the Woodstock Inn Station and Brewery is offering brewery tours for aspiring homebrewers as well as food and beer lovers. The Black Bear Microroastery in Center Tuftonboro is giving coffee tours, and the Bonnie Brae Farms in Plymouth are giving tours of the Red Deer Farm as well as samples of their venison.
