Soothing Babies With Lullabies

Research out this week says that premature babies born in Sweden are more likely to survive than ever before. But it’s a strange start to life, full of bright lights, beeping machines and incubators. And every so often someone comes along and sticks a needle in them. So what can be done to make this a more soothing experience?

New research that examines the findings of several studies shows that music could be the key. BBC Health Check’s Claudia Hammond went to the biggest neonatal intensive care unit in London, at the Chelsea in Westminster Hospital, to find out why music could make all the difference.
