Another Attempt to Save the Ioka

Local arts organizations all over the state are under financial pressure. The recession has left their regular donors less able to give. Governor Lynch has proposed severe cuts in state support.

It would not seem like a propitious moment to try to launch a brand new arts venture, but that’s what a group in Exeter is trying to do.
Their plan is to save the Ioka Theater, a turn of the century movie house in the heart of the historic downtown.

Wendie Leweck is helping to spearhead that effort. She is the co-manager of the group Save the Ioka in Exeter.
