Some May Not See Power Restored Until Next Week

State officials now say some people may not get power until next week.

New Hampshire Public Radio's Dan Gorenstein has more.

At a press conference this morning PUC Chairman Tom Getz said previous estimates on restoring power would have to be pushed back some.

Initially, emergency management officials said most people should have power back on by this weekend.

But Getz said some of the most labor-intensive work has yet to be done.

"Between Friday and Saturday 150,000 customers were restored. From Saturday to Sunday about 70,000 customers were restored. And from Sunday to Monday about 50,000 customers...so there is clearly a trend, it’s going to be hard to bring on large numbers at a time."

Getz says the two hardest hit areas- the customers that may wait the longest- are on the Seacoast and in the Monadnock region.
