Power Crews May Work Home-To-Home
By Dan Gorenstein on Monday, December 15, 2008.
State emergency officials say those without power should plan on that not having power for most of this week. Over the past several days work crews have restored electricity to some 230,000 customers, primarily residential homes. Emergency Management spokesperson Jim Van Dongen says over the weekend crews targeted areas where they could bring on the most people at once. Now, he says, it gets trickier. "If you're the last guy down the street and you've got 100 yards of wire that's lying in your driveway, the utilities might have to spend an entire day putting one customer back up, and that's where it slows things down." About 500 work crews are in the state right now. Currently 170,000 customers are without power. comments

I'm writing from a logical perspective from recently realizing that this will probably go on into Christmas week. There is just too much damage to the electrical infrastructure in the towns west of Nashua. The amount of utility poles & lines requiring replacement is astronomical with regards to the amount of crews "on hand" to replace them. I don't think 500 line and tree-trimming crews working to restore power to PSNH customers is sufficient. My bet is that PSNH is beginning to realize this, and information through them is going to slow. I do believe they are doing a fantastic job for what they have to work with.
I just hope it doesn't come to FEMA assessing and approving assistance, we can't afford to wait until February or March
