Cooking Up A Solution

As Thanksgiving approaches, our thoughts often turn to those less fortunate than us, and the food banks that are helping them out. It’s been a tough couple of months for food banks across the country. The miserable economy is driving more people through their doors, but in many cases, donations are down, making it difficult to feed everyone.

A new program at the New Hampshire Food Bank finds a way to use ingredients and donations that might otherwise go to waste, and it trains unemployed and underemployed people for jobs in the food service industry. New Hampshire Public Radio’s Dan Gorenstein has this story about the Recipe for Success programs.
