Massachusetts's Mandated Healthcare

The Massachusetts legislature just overwhelmingly passed and Governor Mitt Romney has signed landmark legislation that would require almost 100% of residents to have health insurance coverage by 2007 or face penalties. We'll look at what this legislation aims to do and whether it will be financially sustainable in the long run. Jon Greenberg hosts. His guest is Senator Richard Moore, a Democrat representing Worcester and Norfolk Counties in Massachusetts and Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Healthcare Financing in the Massachusetts General Court. Moore also was a member of the Conference Committee to bridge the House and Senate versions of the healthcare bill. His other guest is Laura Tobler, Healthcare Policy Analyst at the National Conference of State Legislatures.
